The Thing Behind Sterling Hall

Since this is my first day back in school after Spring Break, I thought I'd celebrate by posting a picture I took on campus. What is it? I have no idea. It appears to be some sort of vent, but why it takes this form is a mystery. Is it meant to be decorative? I don't know. It is tucked in a tiny courtyard behind Sterling Hall.

Having been born in the spring of 1969, I hadn't heard about the Sterling Hall bombings. Scary stuff but a very interesting history about the incident. Now this is the type of things they will never teach about in school. Thank you for the history lesson today.

Honestly, I can't imagine developing my own photos, then scanning them, resizing, cropping, and the finally being able to post them to a photo blog. I couldn't do it. Bravo.

I was born in the fall of 1970, but it is such a part of the local history, I can't remember a time when people didn't talk about it.

Hello! If you can believe it, I just set up madisondailyphoto.blogspot.com yesterday (4/9) and just now came across yours! I think this town is big enough for 2 bloggers, maybe we'll cross paths at some point! I'm in the Olbrich neighborhood too :)
